Fiorentina make Dusan Vlahovic transfer decision as Arsenal and Spurs told how to complete deal

Fiorentina are "open" to selling Dusan Vlahovic before the January transfer deadline as Arsenal and Spurs have been offered fresh hope despite recent speculation linking Juventus with a deal - but there are strict parameters for clubs to meet on any agreement.

The Serbian has been heavily linked with a move to both north London clubs, with the Gunners said to be the favourites for the striker, having put him as their top transfer target this winter.

Mikel Arteta is said to be on the lookout for a new forward, with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah out of contract in the summer and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's future at the club no clearer.

As for Spurs, football.london understands have been on the lookout for some time for another striker that could potentially play alongside Harry Kane, rather than replace him should he leave amid Man City links.

Vlahovic, 21, has been linked with both sides as well as a number of top European clubs, including Juve, who have moved ahead of the Premier League duo in the transfer race according to recent reports.

However, with an Alvaro Morata sale now unlikely, Max Allegri's side is unlikely to have the funds available to prise the Florence gem away from the Serie A outfit this month, with a summer transfer more favourable for them.

But as Fiorentina's director Prade has alluded to in a recent Italian interview, the club are 'open' to a sale if certain conditions are met.

"Yes, we've received important bids for Vlahovic in January - we're open to sell. But we've never received any answer from his agents," he said in an interview with sportitalia.

"Juventus? Our doors are open. We wait for Dusan to decide, we need an answer.

"We need to understand what the agents and the player want to do. We are also willing to negotiate for the renewal but we have some important offers. We cannot afford to lose it on a free transfer."

On the potential asking price required to unlock this transfer operation, the director of football added: "The valuation of Vlahovic is over €70million (£59million), our president has ordered us not to accept in exchange either technical counterparts or deferred payments."

Despite this rather positive update, Fabrizio Romano provided his own update on the situation claiming that any deal for Vlahovic or alternative option Alexander Isak remains 'complicated' at this point.

He said on the well known fan channel The United Stand regarding the state of play in Arsenal's transfer window: "Let's see if they will be able to sign a striker because a striker for Arsenal is of the same importance as a midfielder is for Man United.

"They want to sign players like Vlahovic and Isak but it remains complicated.

"They will try and sign a striker and a midfielder- It's not going to be easy for the striker."

Vlahovic scored 23 goals in 29 appearances last season and despite recently contracting Covid, is still weighing up his next move with less than seven days remaining now in the mid-season transfer market.

football.london reported earlier in the month that Vlahovic's preference is to stay in Serie A and he has even told close friends that Juventus or Inter Milan would be his ideal destination whenever he does decide to leave the Florence-based club.

So, is it still advantage Juve or is there a favourable twist in the tale for the interested Premier League parties?
