Fiorentina have received offers for highly-rated forward Dusan Vlahovic, according to Fiorentina’s sporting director Daniele Prade.
Vlahovic, 21, continues to be linked with a move to one of European football’s biggest clubs after his blistering form in Serie A with Fiorentina.
The Serbian forward is the joint-top goalscorer in Serie A with 17 goals, alongside Lazio forward Ciro Immobile.
But Vlahovic looks destined to leave Fiorentina, and the forward isn’t short of offers with the likes of Arsenal, Juventus, and Tottenham, reportedly interested in the player.
And recent comments from Fiorentina chief Prade has further reignited speculation of a move away from La Viola for Vlahovic.
Prade told Sportitalia: “We received some important offers for him. Offers that were very substantial but we never got any feedback from his agents.
“On our side there has always been great transparency. I refer to what Barone said yesterday, all our doors are open.
“I say this because we want to understand what he wants and what the agents want. We’re also open to sitting down again for the renewal. We have offers to sell him in a strong way. I’m saying this because a club that makes €75m a year and has a valuable asset cannot afford to lose him for free.
Will Arsenal make the top four this season? Let us know in the comments section.
“We have to understand what he wants. We are open to everything. I don’t leave room for other interpretations.
“We’re open to everything. But the agents have to tell us their intentions.”
When asked whether the offers received for the player were sufficient, Prade replied: “They were all valid and satisfactory offers, with payment methods that suited us. We couldn’t go ahead with the deal because there was never any contact with the player’s agents.”
The news comes after the Gunners reportedly told Vlahovic last week that he has until the middle of this week to make up his mind on a potential transfer deal to Arsenal.
Vlahovic’s current deal at Fiorentina runs until June 2023 and the forward is yet to commit to a new one.
La Repubblica say Arsenal are wanting answers, while Fiorentina are said to have grown increasingly frustrated by the ongoing saga.
Mikel Arteta’s side remain in need of a striker with uncertainty looming over the futures of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, and Eddie Nketiah.
Aubameyang hasn’t played for the club since losing the captaincy last month, while Lacazette and Nketiah are out of contract at the end of the season.
Prade’s recent comments were similar to those of Fiorentina Chief Executive Officer Joe Barone, who told La Nazione earlier this month: “Some English clubs have made contact with Fiorentina, but there is no agreement.
“The English club want Vlahovic, but evidently he's got other ideas. We're ready to negotiate, but him and his agent won't talk.”
He added: “There have been zero openings from Vlahovic's agent. There has been zero communications [from Vlahovic's camp].
“I had asked for clarity [over the player's plans] and I had told his agent to be clear with us. But there's been no contact on that front.”
