Fine diners ecstatic as Tayberry Restaurant launches new evening A la Carte menu

Bosses at The Tayberry Restaurant have launched a new evening menu to the delight of Tayside’s fine diners.

The new selection of tasty treats on its A la Carte menu will run alongside the tasting, market lunch and vegetarian menus.

The announcement was made on the hugely popular Broughty Ferry eatery’s Facebook page last week.

The post said: “We are delighted to announce that we shall now be offering an A la Carte menu, alongside our Tasting Menus, in the evenings.

"Since moving to Tasting Menu only in the evenings, our aim was to streamline how we operate, to ensure sustainability in the current climate.

“Our costs are higher, and supply is more challenging. The Tayberry must, at the very least, maintain the high standards we set for ourselves.

“However, you, our customers, are the lifeblood of The Tayberry, and many of you have voiced your concerns over this decision, and we always listen to our customers.

“We shall also be introducing a new Market Menu for lunch time, watch this space.”

The evening menu offers two and three course options with an accompanying wine flight also available.

Diners are in for a real treat with the choices on offer.

Starters include Scottish Crab and cured salmon tian and BBQ line caught mackerel.

While guests can choose mains that include a Slow cooked short rib of Scotch beef to ‘Forfar Market’ lamb.

Desserts include Sea Buckthorn Curd and a Callebaut Chocolate Delice among others.

The Tayberry’s stellar success is down to a top team of chefs and staff.

Its website says: “Team Tayberry” is at the heart of all that The Tayberry Restaurant Broughty Ferry strives to achieve.

“Led and nurtured by Chef Proprietor, Adam Newth, his fresh and dynamic team reflect his dedicated work ethic and ambition to take The Tayberry from strength to strength.

“Adam is passionate about discovering new talent and developing it for the future and is always keen to hear from aspiring Chefs and Front of House staff with an interest in a career in hospitality.”

And it adds: “The Tayberry Restaurant offers a relaxed, contemporary Scottish fine dining experience set across two levels in a beautiful coastal setting, overlooking the Mouth O’ The Tay.

“The décor is neutral and subtly Scottish, accented in purple tones, giving a nod to our namesake, the tayberry – a soft fruit, akin to a black raspberry, which was first cultivated in the Dundee area in 1979 and named after the River Tay.”
