Australian match winner Glenn Maxwell has received strong backing from captain Aaron Finch to regain form in the T20 World Cup.
Maxwell is having a run of outs in T20 internationals, with no double-figure score in his last seven innings.
But Finch was upbeat about Maxwell ahead of their Cup defence, which starts on October 22 against New Zealand at the SCG.
"He'll have a huge tournament. His contribution, not just with the bat but with the ball ... and in the field is second to none in the world," Finch said.
""I'm not worried about his batting at all ... one ball can change everything for a player like Maxy and we see how he's training.
"He's hitting the ball beautifully; he's probably a little bit more still than what he has been.
"So I'm thinking that he's having a big tournament."
There are many question marks over the home team ahead of the tournament, with Marcus Stoinis (side), Mitch Marsh (ankle), Ashton Agar (ankle) and now David Warner (neck) nursing injuries.
"Everyone's fully fit, except Mitch has been building up his bowling," Finch said.
Warner hurt his neck in a fielding accident last week and might stay out of the team for Monday's warm-up game against India at the Gabba.
"He'll definitely be right for New Zealand. I'm not sure about the warm-up game against India," Finch said.
"He was OK the day after he hit his head, and the following day his neck got really sore and stiff.
"He probably should have been in a neck brace, the way he was carrying on the other day.
"When you have experienced players who know what they have to do, to be ready for a tournament, you're not concerned whether they play that game or not."
