Financial support available to people self-isolating in South Lanarkshire

Financial support is being offered to families impacted by Covid isolation in South Lanarkshire.

A range of help is being provided to people and families who are financially affected by the practice.

Support is available to people and families on low incomes or who have children entitled to free school meals (excluding those entitled to the universal provision of P1-4 meals).

A one-off payment of £25 will be given to parents and carers towards the cost of lunch for pupils who are eligible for free school meals but who have to stay off school due to self isolation.

There is also the self-isolation support grant which is a taxable grant of £500 per person to help people who experienced a reduction in earnings due to self-isolation.

The recipient must be over 16 years old, have been told to isolate by Test and Protect, be employed or self-employed and experience a reduction in earnings because you are unable to work from home.

Information on how to apply for this grant can be found on the council’s website.
