Thursday marks the final day of the Democratic National Convention, with Vice President Kamala Harris set to deliver a formal address, making it one of the most anticipated nights of the event.
Joining Harris in addressing the convention on Thursday are Senators Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Mark Kelly of Arizona. Outgoing Representative Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, Governor Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan, and former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords will also make appearances.
The theme for the final night is 'For Our Future,' focusing on victims of gun violence and advocating for state and national gun control measures. Giffords, a strong proponent of gun control, survived a shooting in 2011 in Tucson, Arizona.
Several speakers on Thursday were previously considered as potential running mates for Harris, including Senators Warren and Kelly, as well as Governor Whitmer, who expressed her honor in sharing the stage with Harris.
In an interview from the United Center the previous night, Senator Warren expressed confidence in the readiness of America for a female president. She emphasized the changes in the nation since 2016 and described this as a pivotal moment for the United States to elect a woman to the highest office.
