Film noir actress Lizabeth Scott's former living room color brings this farmhouse-style home to life – and it's listed for $3.5 million

Lizabeth Scott's former Los Angeles-based house has the old Hollywood history without the dated old Hollywood look. Despite the distinctly mid-century bones, a fresh coat of paint brings a modern feel to the film noir actress's former home. This stunning, transitional style is best exemplified in the living room.

A white paint coat brings a refreshing light to Scott's former living room idea. The entire space is color-drenched in white: from the ceilings to the walls, to the build in shelves, and even the fireplace. When paired with the rectangular, paneled design of the space, the dissonance of styles gives the room an undeniable timeless elegance.

Though the contemporaneity of the home makes it hard to believe it has been around since the 1940s, the historical photos tell a different story. Images of Elvis Presley, Dolores Hart, and Lizabeth Scott reading together in the living room show the home pre-2016 renovation: with the natural wood of the walls and stones of the fireplace on full display. Almost as striking as The King is the difference the updated living room color has made, taking the home from dated to dreamhouse

The Hollywood farmhouse is stunning beyond just the white living room idea. Built by the acclaimed architect Robert Byrd, especially for Lizabeth Scott, the distinctive home is uniquely positioned to offer panoramic views from downtown Los Angeles to Catalina Island. It's a celebration of Byrd's classic California farmhouse style. The home is currently for sale for just shy of $3.5 million, listed with Elisa Ritt of Compass.

The 2 bed, 2 bath home is the quintessential Hollywood Hills oasis. From the light-filled dining room to the soft office, to the sloping bedrooms, the architechture and design exemplify California style. Its overall energy is incredibly warm, inviting, and cozy.

The kitchen in the Elvis-frequented property is especially gorgeous. Black stone and white cabinets form a punchy combination that once again brings a sense of modernity to the more classic bones of the house. The recently installed stainless steel hardware add yet another bit of contemporary flair. Yet again, the room is welcoming and warm.
