Filip Helander is the natural centre-half partner to Connor Goldson and will be back in the Rangers team when fully fit.
That is the view of former Ibrox defender Kirk Broadfoot who believes Michael Beale has the ultimate luxury of having big English defender Goldson back in contention to play. The 30-year-old returned to action for the Light Blues against Aberdeen and played a full 90 minutes against Ross County as Beale's men ramp up their preparation for the Old Firm derby next week.
For Helander, the picture is far bleaker as the Swede has been sidelined for nearly a year with a devastating and hasn't featured at Rangers for over a season. But Open Goal Broomhill defender Broadfoot believes the 29-year-old is still a live option for Beale and would be the natural duo to Goldson when fit.

He told the Sun: "Connor is massive for Rangers, he’s the natural leader of that team. When I was at Kilmarnock and we played them in lockdown, he was the voice. James Tavernier is captain and leads by example, but Goldson was the organiser.
“You could see it was him getting them going and he has been a huge miss in recent months, for his organisation as well as being such a terrific defender. But they’ve also missed his passing ability — his range for a defender is superb. He’s the main man, it’s just about who plays beside him. I haven’t made up my mind yet on Davies. He has struggled for a run of games.
"For me, though, if Helander is fit then he would be the partner beside Goldson. I think the big man is underrated and has shown how good he is. He’s had a few injuries which hasn’t been great, but if they can get him fit, he’d be in my team.”
