Competition is heating up at training camp for the New York Jets, which can sometimes lead to some hot tempers in practice. During Sunday’s session, frustration between Carl Lawson and Grant Hermanns boiled over, leading to a fight on the practice field.
A quick video from camp shows Lawson and Hermanns exchanging punches before being separated at about the 40-yard line, with players rushing in to break up the fight. Scuffles in camp are nothing new, but it’s never good to see two players throwing punches at each other – especially with helmets on. That’s how hand injuries happen.

Here are some other reports from those in attendance at practice. Hopefully no injuries occurred, and we’ll likely hear Robert Saleh’s take on the scuffle after practice concludes.
Hermanns and Carl Lawson went at each other briefly with some swings. Hermanns is feisty. #Jets https://t.co/Y9rfky2bhC

In an earlier two-minute situation, Jets have Grant Hermanns at LT and Max Mitchell at RT. Hermanns later appeared to be exchanging a few haymakers with Carl Lawson in a team period. @nyjets camp
