SOME 50 jobs are up for grabs at a recruitment day as a popular restaurant chain looks to open its first Scottish location.
Turtle Bay, a chain restaurant specialising in Caribbean food, runs 51 sites across England and Wales, according to its website.
They are now set to open a Glasgow location, which will be their first north of the Border.
The restaurant said that its new branch, on Saint Vincent Street in the city centre, will create 60 employment opportunities. The majority of these (around 50) will be up for grabs at a special recruitment day.

Turtle Bay is hosting the day on November 8 at the Maldron Hotel on Renfrew Street, Glasgow.
The firm said in a press release: “Through this event, Turtle Bay hopes to fill 50 remaining jobs available at the new venue, with available positions in the kitchen, bar, and front of house team that will provide experience and growth opportunities to applicants throughout different stages of their career.”
It went on: “Turtle Bay’s recruitment day will provide a fun, interactive experience that gives applicants the opportunity to get a real taste of what it would be like to work for the restaurant.
“The day will include in-person interviews and group activities, alongside a short online assessment, all conducted in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
“The day will provide a chance for candidates to get to know the brand in more detail, hearing from some of the team who work for the company about what makes it a great place to work.”
