FIFA will pay every player at the Women's World Cup at least €28,000 with the 23 players on the winning team to each receive over €250,000.
The announcement by FIFA on Wednesday highlights a commitment to provide compensation to each of the 732 players competing in the summer tournament that will be held in Australia and New Zealand.
It means more than half of FIFA’s prize fund of over €100 million must be paid to the players in the 32 teams that qualified.

If Ireland end up being one of the 16 teams who don't advance from the group stage, it'll mean each player is guaranteed over €28,000 for their efforts, which is more than the annual salary of most members of the squad.
FIFA noted the prize money listed is “a huge investment in women’s football and, for the first time ever, we are guaranteeing prize money for players.”
The €102 million pool is more than three times the €28 million prize fund FIFA distributed at the 2019 Women's World Cup in France.
Vera Pauw's side take on Australia in the tournament's opening game in Sydney on July 20th.
