FIFA has changed the World Cup match ball towards the end of this year's tournament in preparation for the semi-finals and final.
The Al Rihla ball had been used for the group stage, last 16 and quarter-finals but has been replaced by the Al Hilm for the final four games of the competition, including the third-place play-off. Both balls are made by Adidas and have Arabic names, with Al Rihla translating to "The Journey" and Al Hilm translating as "The Dream".
The governing body announced the move on Sunday, ahead of the first round of semi-final games on Tuesday evening. Argentina will face Croatia at Lusail Stadium using the Al Hilm, before France face Morocco at Al Bayt Stadium on Wednesday.
The Al Rihla has already caused controversy during the tournament, with sensors placed in the ball taking a goal away from Cristiano Ronaldo against Uruguay. The Al Hilm utilises the same technology, which is designed by sportswear giant Adidas.
FIFA has insisted that 'Connected Ball' technology has helped referees to make quicker and more accurate decisions. It is able to offer VAR officials instant data and also aids in the use of the semi-automated offside system.
The director of football technology and innovation at FIFA, Johannes Holzmuller, hailed the 'Connected Ball' technology and insisted that it can help to "unlock new insights" for supporters as well as match officials.

"With the development of the connected ball technology, Adidas made it possible that an additional important layer of information is available to the video match officials," Holzmüller said.
"The data from the ball unlocks new insights for storytelling around the unique moments on the pitch at this World Cup."
As well as the Connected Ball technology, the Al Hilm is the first World Cup ball to be made using only water-based inks and glue. The design features a textured gold base colour and a subtle triangular pattern.
FIFA has said that pattern draws inspiration from the deserts that surround Doha, where much of the World Cup is played. The gold colour is also a reference to the colour of the trophy, while the pattern alludes to the Qatari flag.
Adidas has claimed that the ball is representative of the 'power of football to bring the world together', despite the dreadful human rights abuses committed by host country Qatar.
"Al Hilm represents a beacon of light on the power of sport and football to bring the world together," said Nick Craggs, general manager of football at Adidas.
"Millions will tune in from almost every country around the globe, united by their passion for the game. We wish all teams involved in the final stages of the tournament the best of luck as they compete on the largest stage that football has to offer."
After the semi-finals are played over the next two days, the two losing teams will meet at Khalifa International Stadium on Saturday for the third-place play-off. The two winners will meet a day a later for the final, with both games using the Al Hilm.
