FIFA 23 will have shared FUT transfer Market for PlayStation and Xbox but not PC

FIFA 23 will have one shared transfer market in FIFA Ultimate Team for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Stadia.

The FIFA 23 reveal trailer was released by EA on Wednesday, June 20, 2022, giving players their first taste of what to expect in FIFA 23. The trailer consisted of gameplay footage of new features such as HyperMotion 2, cross-play, men's and women's FIFA World Cup modes, and a host of changes to FIFA Ultimate Team.

The introduction of cross-play is a major addition for FIFA 23, and something that fans have been wanting for a number of years. With EA adding cross-play to FIFA 23 FUT, it means that there will be one shared transfer market to be used in FUT 23, but not for PC and Nintendo Switch.

Along with the trailer release, EA published their first pitch notes of FIFA 23 - a deep dive into cross-play and what to expect. EA received major backlash on social media after they didn't include cross-play into the Pro Clubs game mode.

Cross-play will be available in these FUT game modes: FUT Division Rivals (except Co-Op), FUT Champions, FUT Ultimate Online Draft, FUT Online Friendlies (except Co-Op) and FUT Play a Friend. It will also be available in Online Friendlies, Online Seasons (except Co-Op Seasons) and the Virtual Bundesliga competitive game mode (exclusive to Germany).

According to the deep-dive, EA has expanded the Transfer Market in FUT to help the functionality of cross-platform play. This means, the Transfer Market will be combined into pools of platforms, but not for PC and Switch.

So, in FIFA 23, players on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Stadia will all share the same Transfer Market, meaning there will be a major increase in the number of items listed on the market at once. For example, if a player on Xbox Series S was to list an item on the Transfer market, a player on Stadia could view and purchase that item.

With PC and Switch, the two will NOT share a Transfer Market, but will each have their own individual market instead. So, if a player was to list an item on PC, players on Switch could not view or purchase that item.

FIFA 23 is developed by EA Vancouver and EA Romania and will be available worldwide on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Stadia, PS4, and Xbox One on September 30. Early access for FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition begins on September 27, 2022.
