FIFA 23 web app and Ultimate Team downtime extended – here's when they're back online

FIFA 23 is currently undergoing maintenance which has left Ultimate Team inaccessible, and the planned downtime has now been extended to 10 hours.

UPDATED 2.30pm GMT, Thursday, January 12: Originally confirmed by EA Sports that the FIFA 23 maintenance will end at 1pm GMT / 9am ET / 6am PT today, EA has released a follow-up statement to say that the planned maintenance will continue until 3pm GMT / 11am ET / 8am PT today. Ultimate Team and the FUT 23 Web App are the two game modes impacted by the current maintenance, with online modes such as Pro Clubs, Volta and Online Seasons all working as usual, as well as all offline game modes.

The downtime will impact FIFA 23 users on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Stadia and Nintendo Switch. So everyone who plays FIFA, basically. EA Sports announced the maintenance from its FIFA Direct Communications social channels last night, with FIFA titles 16-22 also undergoing separate planned maintenance on all platforms apart from Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. This was a shorter, three-hour maintenance period which has now ended.

The FIFA 23 maintenance started at 5am GMT / 1am ET / 10pm PT and was originally scheduled to end at 1pm GMT / 9am ET / 6am PT. It appears that only the FIFA 23 Ultimate Team game mode is unable to be accessed at this moment, whilst we are unsure what will be updated/ fixed in the maintenance.

The Tweet released by EA last night stated: "We have a scheduled maintenance on January 12, 5 AM - 1 PM UTC. During this time, you may be disconnected or unable to access online services. Match creation will be disabled 30 min prior to the maintenance. Titles impacted: FIFA 23 on all platforms and the FUT Web App."

Since then, EA announced today: "We're extending maintenance till 3 PM UTC. Titles impacted: FIFA 23 on all platforms and the FUT Web App."

Don't be down

For FIFA Ultimate Team players, the maintenance comes at a bad time, with Thursday morning being the time players can claim their weekly FUT Division Rivals rewards. Usually, players could rush to the FIFA 23 web app to claim rewards instead, but with the web app and the Companion App both down as well, there's no way for players to claim rewards until the maintenance is finished.

The downtime comes ahead of FIFA 23's Title Update 6. Patch notes shared on the official Trello board reveal that some big changes to gameplay are on the way, like decreased stamina for constant pressure, press after possession loss, and press on heavy touch Custom Tactics.

We'll be able to dig into the finer details a bit more once the update is live in a couple hours.
