EA Sports has today confirmed four Premier League Ones to Watch items that will feature in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team, including Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez.
Ahead of the launch of FIFA 23 on September 30, 2022, EA Sports had already confirmed that Man City striker Erling Haaland will feature as a Ones to Watch (OTW) player item. But EA has today confirmed three other Premier League stars who will feature in the upcoming OTW campaign.
The Ones to Watch Ultimate Team promo is often the first major FUT promo to be released following the launch of the full game, with the biggest transfers from the summer transfer window given special player items that can upgrade throughout the FUT 23 calendar.
EA Sports has confirmed today that Chelsea forward Raheem Sterling, Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez and Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison will all feature in the FUT 23 Ones to Watch promo when FIFA 23 is released, joining Haaland who has already been confirmed. Sterling made a big money move from Premier League champions City to Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea this summer and has been one of the more high-profile transfers this summer.
Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool side also strengthened their squad this summer with the signing of Nunez, following Sadio Mane's departure to Bayern Munich. The Uruguayan started the 2022/23 season in great form, scoring and registering an assist against Fulham, but was sent off in the next fixture against Crystal Palace.
Finally, former Everton forward Richarlison has joined Antonio Conte's Spurs ahead of the new campaign and will provide competition in attack for the likes of Harry Kane and Heung-min Son. None of the four OTW player items have had their ratings confirmed, but we do now have their confirmed FUT 23 player images which have been shown off with the new OTW card design.
Based on the player's real-life performances, OTW player items receive boosts every time that player is included in a FIFA 23 Team of the Week (TOTW) squad or receives a MOTM player item. In FIFA 22, OTW items also received a one-time, +1 boost if their team won five out of their next 10 domestic league game, starting from a specific date.
FIFA 23 will be released in the UK and worldwide on Friday, September 30, 2022, so the FUT 23 Ones to Watch promo could officially start on the same date. Since the introduction of Ones to Watch in FIFA 17, each promo has been released on the first Friday following the release, so this is an educated guess.
FIFA 23 is developed by EA Vancouver and EA Romania and will be available worldwide on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Stadia, PS4, and Xbox One on September 30. Early access for FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition begins on September 27, 2022.
