The first wave of FIFA 23 Closed Beta codes have been released by EA Sports, giving players early access to the game before full release.
Each year EA gives a small number of players the chance to play their new game before the official release, with FIFA 23 being officially released worldwide on Sunday, September 30, 2022. The Closed Beta allows EA to iron out any final creases in their game before the worldwide release next month, and the first batch of Closed Beta codes have been sent out this week.
It appears that the Closed Beta codes for FIFA 23 are all different, with players receiving access to certain game modes rather than all of them. Some codes do not allow access to FIFA Ultimate Team, whilst some don't allow access to Pro Clubs.

The first wave of Closed Beta codes were sent out by EA on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. Players can now pre-load a smaller, work-in-progress version of the game, with the FIFA 23 Closed Beta officially starting on August 11, 2022 at 18:00 PM BST/10:00 PDT.
But, if you are yet to receive your Closed Beta code, don't sweat it too much. EA tend to release codes in waves, meaning there's still a chance of receiving your invite.
To give yourself the best chance of getting a code to access the Closed Beta, there are some steps you need to follow. The first and most important step is to give EA Sports consent to contact you via email, otherwise, they will not be able to send you a code.
If you haven't already given them consent or are not sure if you have, you can find this option within the Email Preferences tab in your EA Account settings on EA.com. Make sure you tick the box which allows EA to email you about products, news, events and promotions.
When on that tab, there will be a preferred games section. Make sure that you've selected FIFA titles and you've selected your preferred platform at the bottom, then click update. You must also make sure that your Xbox Live or PSN account is linked to your EA Sports account. This can be found in the Connections tab in your EA Account Settings.
But, even if you were to complete all these steps, there are some requirements that mean only certain people can receive an invite. The requirements are as followed:
- Players must be at least 18 years old
- Your Xbox/PS account must be from the UK or North America
- You must have a working internet connection
- You need an active subscription to either Xbox Live Gold or PS Plus
The Closed Beta is only available in English, meaning only players from the UK and North America can receive invites. Only invited players can access FIFA 23 early, and your code cannot be shared, so remember that if you're offered a beta code for a fee, it's a scam.
