EA Sports has released the second major update for FIFA 22 so far in 2022, which aims to fix blocks and interceptions from ground passes.
The first major FIFA 22 update since November was released in January 2022, with Title Update 4 featuring a number of changes and fixes including big changes to mechanics such as shooting, passing, player switching, fouls, ball control, as well as popular modes such as Career Mode, FUT, Volta Football and more.
And in Title Update 5, which is now available on FIFA 22 for players on PC, Stadia, PlayStation 5 (PS5), PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X, there is a fix for a very specific issue and one that has annoyed FIFA players all year long.

The FIFA 22 Title Update 5 is now available on FIFA 22 for players on PC, Stadia, PlayStation 5 (PS5), PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X.
You can check out the full FIFA 22 Title Update 5 patch notes below, but this patch is clearly designed to fix a very specific issue with blocks and interceptions from ground passes on FIFA 22, increasing the likelihood of a player retaining the ball after intercepting or blocking a Ground Pass.
But, according to EA Sports, it doesn't impact how often ground passes are intercepted or blocked.
Gameplay
Made the following change:
Increased the likelihood of a player retaining the ball after intercepting or blocking a Ground Pass.
- This change has no effect on how often Ground Passes are intercepted and blocked, it only impacts the outcome of interceptions and blocks.
