West Lothian Council Executive has approved the renaming of the Field Archery Area at Beecraigs Country Park in memory of Jim Greig.
Jim was instrumental in establishing field archery and worked at Beecraigs for many years.
In addition to being the Secretary of Beecraigs Archers, he was Head Coach for the Scottish Field Archery Association and his efforts helped bring field archery to new generations of participants, as well as bringing hundreds of families to Beecraigs Country Park.
Council officers will now undertake work to install new signage to mark the official renaming of Field Archery Area.
Leader of West Lothian Council, Lawrence Fitzpatrick said: “Jim Greig had a long association with Beecraigs and played a significant role in developing the sport of field archery in West Lothian.
“The responses to the proposal to rename the Field Archery Area indicate how highly people thought of him and this will serve as a lasting tribute to his legacy.”
