Feyenoord chief makes Leeds United admission over Luis Sinisterra transfer clause

Feyenoord's technical director Dennis te Kloese has admitted that he is a "big fan" of Leeds United as he claimed that the Dutch side will be financially compensated if the Whites avoid relegation due to a transfer clause in Luis Sinisterra's contract.

Leeds signed Sinisterra from Feyenoord over the summer as Jesse Marsch looked to bolster his attacking options. The Colombian has shown his quality in glimpses this season due to injury struggles keeping him from a run of consistent game time for the Whites following his arrival at Elland Road.

The 23-year-old got on the scoresheet during Leeds' fourth round FA Cup win over Accrington Stanley as he helped his side reach the fifth round of the competition for the first time since 2016. An away trip - as has become tradition for Leeds in the tournament - sees Marsch's squad take on either Fulham or Sunderland.

In the Premier League, Leeds are looking to move away from the relegation places and have a great chance to do that against Nottingham Forest this weekend. A win against Steve Cooper's side would see them leapfrog 13th-placed Forest on goal difference.

Supporters will be desperate for their side to record their first win in the English top-flight since November, but they will not be the only ones cheering on Leeds this Sunday. De Kloese has now revealed that his side are due to receive further payment should Leeds - and Bournemouth - stay up due to clauses in the contracts of Marcos Senesi and Sinisterra respectively.

“I’m a big fan of Bournemouth and Leeds right now,” he told The Athletic. “If they stay up, we will get some bonuses.”

The Leeds board will know that should Sinisterra help keep the Whites in the Premier League, any extra payment will have been well and truly worth it.
