Premium mixer brand Fever-Tree has signed a partnership with Asahi Breweries in Japan as it looks to move further into international markets.

Founded in 1889 in Osaka as the Osaka Breweries, Asahi Breweries  and Fever-Tree said it was  “the ideal partner to accelerate the next stage” of its growth in the region, capitalising on rising consumer demand for premium adult soft drinks in the Japanese market.

From January next year, Asahi Breweries will distribute Fever-Tree products to the Japanese market including Premium Indian Tonic Water, Mediterranean Tonic Water, Elderflower Tonic Water, Premium Ginger Ale, Premium Ginger Beer, and Premium Soda Water.

“We are therefore delighted to be partnering with a company of the status, size and influence of Asahi Breweries to go after these opportunities, drawing on their local expertise and strong distribution network.”

Kenichi Shiozawa, boss of Asahi Breweries, added: “We are pleased to offer Fever-Tree in Japan, a high-quality premium mixer brand that leads the global mixer market.  Asahi will deliver new value to Japanese consumers, mixing with Fever-Tree and our brand portfolio.”

The West London-based drinks manufacturer was founded by Warrillow and Charles Rolls in 2004 and exports products worldwide.

Asahi is a Japanese global beer, spirits, soft drinks and food business group headquartered in Sumida, Tokyo.
