The large crowd of football hooligans caused a commotion outside the busy station as officers from the British Transport Police tried to halt clashes and calm the tensions.

A number of supporters in green can be seen facing off with what is suspected to be Hearts fans on the road in front of the Haymarket tram stops.

Police officers can also be seen in the midst of the brawl as a large crowd gathers around the fight.

Celtic will now progress through to the next round of the Scottish Cup alongside Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Old Firm rivals Rangers.

Falkirk play against Ayr United on Monday night to see who will complete the line-up for this season's Scottish Cup semi finals.
