Festy Ebosele makes Serie A impact as Udinese relegate Sampdoria

Festy Ebosele was influential for Udinese in their 2-0 victory over Sampdoria as the wing-back provided an assist.

The Wexford native played 78 minutes in the Serie A as his side climbed to 9th whilst their opponents were relegated.

The 22-year-old has made a total of 17 appearances since joining the Italian side from Derby County last summer.

He repaid the leap of faith his manager put in him by making a purposeful forward run, followed by an elegant through ball that permitted Roberto Pereyra to open the scoring in the ninth minute with a calm finish.

Ebosele's Irish teammate James Abankwah was an unused sub during last night's match against Sampdoria.

The 19-year-old signed from St. Patrick's Athletic last summer and has only played once this term - a substitute appearance against Bologna in April.

Overall, both players are developing well in Italy, therefore next season promises to provide more game time for the pair.

One supporter described Ebosele as a "real threat" for Udinese on the right flank and praised his "ridiculous" dribbling ability.

Another fan highlighted Pereyra's goal as he credited Ebosele for timing his "run to perfection."
