Festival goers can get their hair washed for £12 as Lush joins Bluedot line up

Music lovers will be able to wash the mud, glitter and festival grime out of their hair at a Cheshire festival as one of the UKs leading bath and body brands has joined a line up of sustainable brands to pamper ticket holders.

Lush will be setting up a stall at Bluedot Festival this month as festival goers flock to Jodrell Bank Observatory, in Macclesfield. Those looking to refresh their locks will be able to have their hair washed professionally, or styled into braids or pony tails.

From Thursday, July 21 to Sunday, July 24, revellers will be able to book in for a bespoke hair consultation and experience, taking home their own shampoo bar, too.

Beauty lovers can chat with HairLab experts, choosing a shampoo bar and conditioner before having their hair washed on luxury salon chairs. They can then head to a self-styling area which includes hairdryers, straighteners and fresh handmade styling products. Specialists will be on hand to offer advice and help in achieving the perfect festival locks.

They’ll be able to take their shampoo bar home in a tin that can be reused over and over again. The Lush ‘Shampoo Bar’ bar also contains a small shop to purchase naked haircare, hairbrushes and various lifestyle items.

The treatments normally last between 15 and 30 minutes, depending on hair type, and cost £12. Booking is available via the Bluedot website and in person at the festival, but slots are likely to get booked up fast.

In the nearby No H2O Menu barthe team from the Liverpool HairLab will be helping festival fans achieve a fab festival look using their knot wraps. Those who book on will get to keep the knot wrap after styling in braids or a ‘party pony’. This experience will cost music lovers £7, and will be available from the Friday to the Sunday at the festival.

Already announced for this year’s event, the first after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, are the likes of Groove Armada, Mogwai, Spiritialized, Metronomy, Working Mens Club, Yard Act, A Certain Ratio and A Guy Called Gerald.

Meanwhile headliner Bjork and the Halle orchestra will perform in the shadow of the world famous Lovell radio telescope, with astronaut Tim Peake confirmed among the ‘science headliners’.
