The driver of a supercar was stopped after being recorded speeding in an accident "hotspot" yesterday.
The black Ferrari was spotted speeding through Switch Island which is, as police describe, an "RTC hotspot", before being stopped on Dunnings Bridge Road. The dual carriageway has a 40mph speed limit, but the photo shared by Merseyside Police shows the performance car reaching 57mph.
The area has been plagued with crashes and collisions for years, with the junction most recently seeing the traffic lights out for days after a car crashed into the control box. The Roads Policing Unit has now managed to catch one dangerous driver after the lights were only turned back on yesterday (Tuesday, May 10).

In just the two days, people across the area suffered from tailbacks on the motorways and main roads leading to Maghull, Ormskirk, Southport and Netherton. The junction had only been fully reopened for a few hours before the car was seen driving at speed.
Roads Policing Unit Twitter page posted: "The driver of this Ferrari was stopped for excess speed on Dunnings Bridge Road having just come through Switch Island. That area is an RTC hotspot for enforcement of excess speed and drivers failing to comply with the traffic signals."
