Two people have been evacuated from an Ayrshire flat after a blaze broke out in the early hours of this morning.
A man and woman were removed from the upstairs apartment of a property on Dalrymple Street in Girvan just before 1am.
Officials have confirmed that no one was injured in the blaze and police aren't treating the inferno as suspicious.
Fire officers received a 999 call at around 12.40am reporting the fire, which is believed to have started in the flat above a bookmakers' on Girvan's high street.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We received a call to attend a building fire at a residential premises on Dalrymple Street, Girvan at around 12.40am on Sunday, September 18.
"Four appliances were in attendance. The stop order came in at 11.09am."
A Police Scotland spokesperson added: "Around 12.50 am on Sunday, September 18, police were alerted to a fire at a flat on Dalrymple Street, Girvan. The two occupants of the flat, a man and woman, were evacuated and no one is reported as being injured.
"The fire is not being treated as suspicious. Police and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service remain at the scene.
"Dalrymple Street remains closed. Local diversions are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area until further notice."
