Ferne McCann has revealed that she’s given her newborn daughter an unusual name "which sounds like a character out of Bridgerton" and has an A-List link.
The former Towie star and fiancé Lorri Haines, 32, welcomed the baby earlier this month and just announced in a new interview that they have named her Finty Francis Haines-McCann.
“I don’t know where I got it from, but when I typed it in [on Google] I saw Judi Dench’s daughter’s nickname is Finty,” McCann told OK!. “I’ve always loved it and never heard it anywhere else before.
“I just feel so connected to the name – she came out and she was just Finty. I think she sounds like a character out of Bridgerton.”
The name Finty, which is of English origin, means “pure”.
The reality TV star also explained she chose Francis for her daughter’s middle name to honour her grandfather.
“Francis is my grandad’s name – it’s a nod to Grandad Frank,” said the star who admitted that she hopes to have “two more” children but “couldn’t see myself” with a baby boy.
McCann, who also has daughter Sunday, five, from a previous relationship with jailed acid attacker Arthur Collins, also opened up about Finty’s home birth, which was filmed for reality show, First Time Mum.
However, she said she is “currently in discussions” with her fiancé over whether they should go through with sharing the birth on TV.
She explained that while pregnant with her first child, she was on her own so didn’t have to “deliberate or liaise” with anyone, but now she has to “cross things past” Haines.
McCann, her daughter Sunday and Haines could be seen placing their hands on the newborn’s stomach.
She captioned the clip, which was set to a cover of Shaggy’s song, Angel: “It’s a girl 06.07.23.”
The lyrics state: “Girl, you’re my angel. You’re my darling angel. Closer than my peeps you are to me, baby.”
Haines, who also has a son named Noah, five, proposed to the TV star in July 2022.
