Ferne McCann revealed that she 'nearly lost it all' following her relationship with her acid attacker ex-boyfriend Arthur Collins.
However, the former The Only Way Is Essex star said she has 'overcome those barriers'.
Arthur is currently serving time in HMP Woodhill in Milton Keynes for throwing acid on a crowd in an East London nightclub in 2017.
He has been serving a 20-year sentence for his involvement in the horrifying assault.
Ferne, who shares daughter Sunday with him, dumped him immediately after the incident.
Speaking at The Sun's International Women's Day event, she said: "Something that I've learned recently is that problems which are going to throw you off course are inevitable.
"I have had to take the light with the shade, and the highs with the lows, in my personal life or in my professional career.
"I've been in situations where I thought I'd lost it all - career, everything - through actions I had absolutely nothing to do with."
She went on to say that working hard helps 'overcome those barriers'.
Ferne previously said she only found out about her pregnancy with Arthur's baby shortly before his arrest.
She explained how she was 'robbed' of a normal pregnancy when he was jailed.
Ferne said: “My first experience of a pregnancy, and everything you think an ideal pregnancy would be, was robbed from me.”
Speaking on the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast in 2020, Ferne added: “She was a lovely surprise... I’m quite spiritual anyway but they are such a blessing, they are so meant to be.
“Without getting too cringe and deep, this is what life wants to happen.”

Ferne admitted she sometimes felt jealous of other mums who still had their partners to help.
She added: “I’ve had many nights where I’ve been so upset and very emotional but you get through it.”
Ferne is currently dating Dubai-based jeweller Lorri Haines, who she travels back and forth for.
In a new interview, the First Time Mum star has explained how she is "older and wiser" these days, and is looking forward to giving daughter Sunday siblings one day in the future.
"I am different now — I am older and wiser. I have learned from mistakes," she told the publication.
The TV beauty is so sure of her romance with Lorri, that she is even thinking of adding to her family.
"I want to have more kids, for sure," Ferne confessed.
