Ferne McCann breaks down in tears live on TV with grovelling apology for vile voice notes

Ferne McCann broke down live on This Morning today as she issued a grovelling apology for a series of leaked voice notes.

The former Only Way Is Essex star spoke with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield today, where they discussed the voice notes in which Ferne supposedly made a series of comments about her former best pals Sam and Billie, allegedly calling Sam a "fat c***".

In other alleged voice notes, Ferne appeared to call mum-of-three Sam a narcissistic b***h', whilst in another Ferne was accused of hitting out at Billie for giving her son the same name as her jailed ex Arthur, whilst weeks later the anonymous account claimed Ferne made comments about her ex Arthur's acid attack victim Sophie Hall.

The ITV programme showed a clip from the latest episode of her reality show, which will air later this evening, where Ferne explained to her friend James 'Arg' Argent how the leak affected her. She admitted she struggled with the school run, worried what people might think about her after the vile messages were leaked on social media.

"It's really hard to watch," Ferne explained, "It's the nature of the beast with reality TV. Engagement and pregnancy, you celebrate along with the people who watch your show and it's great. With me, I do wear my heart on my sleeve. I am transparent with the viewers so when you go through something difficult, you can't just throw in the towel. It's warts and all."

Ferne then apologised for what she said - but vowed to reveal the "full truth" soon.

"It wasn't my finest hour and it definitely was a very difficult time in my life when those voice notes were leaked. I need to take this opportunity to publicly apologise again to those affected," she began.

"Obviously the words I used where unpleasant, but I have reached out privately to those people. It's very difficult - I'd love to sit here with you guys and with my followers and share exactly what went on, but it's now part of a criminal investigation."

She added: "I can't do that but what I can say is, these voice notes were from a time when I was in a very vulnerable situation and it was a very very difficult situation for me, five or six years ago. Since then, I've done a lot of work on myself.

"I've been in therapy for six years and I feel that I am a different person and even though I can't share my full truth, and I know how frustrating that is for people listening, I know that one I will get that chance to fully be able to be 100 per cent transparent. I know my story will be able to help a lot of women, but for now I can't say too much."

In the voice notes, Ferne supposedly made a series of comments about her former best pals Sam and Billie, allegedly calling Sam a "fat c***". In one, she allegedly said: "Sam Faiers is a fat c***. Her thighs are so big and I looked really skinny today and... yeah."

In a second voice note, Ferne appeared to call mum-of-three Sam a narcissistic b***h', as she said: "That's the sort of girl that she is. She's just a narcissistic b***h. She honestly won't care," Ferne can be heard saying, "It's an exact copy. It's just so sh*t on people that have worked hard to just - because she has a big following. It's just ridiculous. It's out of order."

In another leaked voice note, Ferne was accused of hitting out at Billie for giving her son the same name as her jailed ex Arthur, whilst weeks later the anonymous account claimed Ferne made comments about her ex Arthur's acid attack victim Sophie Hall.

Ferne had said that her voice messages were "edited and taken entirely out of context.

"The voice messages that are being released are manipulated, edited and taken entirely out of context," she said previously of what was leaked online, "Even so, I will have said things that are untrue and I do not believe - but I did so to protect my family and myself from serious harm and in the face of significant threats."

An Essex Police spokesperson told the Mirror at the time that the matter was subject to a police probe.

"We are investigating a report of malicious communication which was made to us in Brentwood on Thursday 29 September," the spokesperson said, "We have spoken to the victim, a woman aged in her 30s, and our enquiries are ongoing."
