Former Premier League star Fernando Torres has placed his allegiances firmly with Liverpool over Chelsea ahead of the return of the Champions League.
Torres spent four years at the Reds before a stunning January transfer deadline day move to Chelsea in 2011. The Spaniard had been one of the top-flight's best strikers during his time at Anfield, but he struggled to replicate his form at Stamford Bridge.
Though he did claim an FA Cup, Champions League and Europa League while at the Blues, many now see it as an ill-judged move. It appears that Torres may agree with that assessment, as he made it clear which club he sides with.
The former striker took part in a This or That challenge for the official TikTok page for the Champions League. He was asked to shoot a ball into one side of a goal as he answered seven questions.
The first question was whether Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo is the better player. Torres shot the ball into the bottom right corner to choose Messi, who recently won the World Cup with Argentina.
Torres then shot the ball into the left corner to signal his preference for Erling Haaland over Kylian Mbappe. He also opted for former Reds star Luis Suarez over Barcelona's Robert Lewandowski, though he left before the Uruguayan arrived on Merseyside.

The former striker then began to show his preference for Liverpool over Chelsea, choosing Anfield instead of Stamford Bridge. He also chose to select legendary Reds captain Steven Gerrard over Frank Lampard, the Blues' all-time record scorer.
In perhaps the biggest shock, Torres continued to show his Liverpool colours by selecting Rafa Benitez over former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho. The challenge concluded by Torres choosing former Spain international David Villa over himself.
Torres has frequently made his continuing love for Liverpool clear, despite his acrimonious exit. Three years ago, he admitted to holding regrets over the manner of his departure for Chelsea.
"One of the regrets I have is the way I left the club. With time, I think I could explain the reasons. I'm really happy that every time I go anywhere in the world, I see Liverpool fans and they come to me and thank me for my time here," he told Liverpool's club website.
"It should be the opposite way. I always thank them for the way they made me feel when I was here, and even now. I'm really proud to say I will support Liverpool forever, it doesn't matter what happened.
Even when things between us were not at their best, I felt that I needed to support Liverpool. The city, fans and club will always be in my heart because it's the way I feel and I cannot change that."
