Fernandinho is eyeing two more trips to Wembley after Manchester City successfully negotiated a tricky FA Cup clash with Championship leaders Fulham.
Having seen Manchester United slip up at home to Middlesbrough, before Chelsea and West Ham needed extra time to edge past League One and National League North opposition respectively, City knew they had to be at their best to beat Marco Silva's in-form Fulham.
And the game got off to the worst start as Fabio Carvalho scored after just four minutes to put the visitors ahead and threaten another upset.
However, Ilkay Gundogan's quick response within two minutes, followed shortly after by a John Stones header, ensured City wrestled back control of a lively tie. A Riyad Mahrez brace in the second half secured a fifth-round spot, and captain Fernandinho said the immediate equaliser was crucial to City's win.
He said: "It was a typical FA Cup tie - they started the game better than us and scored first and I’m glad we scored so quick to equalise and then took the lead.
“They didn't create too many chances after that and I'm happy we are through to the next round. We analysed their team and knew they had so much quality. We practiced some set-pieces before the game and it paid off today.
"But overall it was a good game and we controlled it and I’m happy we got through. It was important to go through and now we can focus on the Premier League and tried to keep going."
However, despite the return to Premier League action this week, Fernandinho admitted City players are keen to add another FA Cup trophy to their cabinet and want to reward their fans with two more Wembley trips this season in the semi-final and final.
He said: "The FA Cup is really important for everyone at the Club especially the players. I hope we can reach the final and give our fans two trips to Wembley to enjoy the day over there and let's try to win it again."
Fernandinho also praised the squad players who got a chance to impress today, saying: “This is the beauty of our team and the high levels and standards we have in our squad.
“The players who come in and the players who come off the bench want to show what they can do. At Man City, you have to show your quality every minute you are on the pitch and when we are winning, we just want to score more and more goals.”
City discover their fifth-round opponents in Sunday's draw, to take place before Liverpool face Cardiff at 12pm.
