Fans think Fern Britton has reignited her former 'feud' with Phillip Schofield after revealing her 'unexpected' call from a fellow former This Morning co-star. The presenter teased fans as she revealed she’s had the "loveliest catch up" with Eamonn Holmes.
It came hours after Eamonn, who left the ITV daytime show in August 2021 after 14 years alongside wife Ruth Langsford, took aim at his former co-stars Phillip and Holly Willoughby amid continued reports that their friendship is on the brink.
The This Morning due are reportedly in crisis after reports began to circulate that the pair were 'barely speaking' behind the scenes. It was claimed that Phillip's pre-planned absence from the programme last month around his brother’s sex abuse trial contributed to a "cooling" of his friendship with Holly. But last week, the 61-year-old issued an unexpected statement claiming Holly is still his 'rock'.

But ahead of their appearance on This Morning on Monday (May 15), the first time they've been seen together since the statement, their former co-star on the ITV daytime show Eamonn launched a blistering attack on his former colleagues. The presenter called the partnership 'a broken fit' as he discussed the fallout on his GB News breakfast show.
"They may or may not be together on the telly today. The public surely will suss that there's no chemistry, that it's a broken fit between the two of them and that This Morning does not depend on who presents it," he remarked. Continuing, the 63-year-old added: "It's an institution, it will carry on no matter who presents it and anyone can check the viewing figures, there's no difference between whether they present it or anyone else."
And just hours later, Fern sent her tweet discussing her unplanned chat with Eamonn. She tweeted on Monday evening: “Unexpected calls from old mates are so lovely.
"Just had the loveliest catch up with @EamonnHolmes. I think we have known each other since the 80’s when we were babies [crying laughing emoji]. Shooting the breeze [three red love heart emojis]."
And as her followers rushed to respond, she returned to social media with a snap of herself and Eamonn from their time working together. "Exhibit A," she typed with a crying laughing emoji. And when one follower replied: "Holly and Phils grandparents!" Fern couldn't help but reply with more crying laughing emojis.
Holly became the presenter of This Morning after seasoned host Fern Britton quit. She was said to have fallen out with Phil after her friends claimed she felt "undervalued by ITV " and that she was "living in Phil's shadow", the Mirror reports.
In his autobiography, Life Is What You Make It, Phil addressed a blazing row he had with Fern, which he believes was the final nail in the coffin. He said he argued with Fern in a makeup room in 2009 over the content of a show – and was "stunned" when she accused him of "meddling."
