Fermanagh venue named the best golf resort in Ulster at prestigious awards

Lough Erne Resort has been named as the ‘Best Golf Resort in Ulster' at the 2023 Golfers Guide to Ireland Awards at Carton House, Kildare.

The prestigious award caps a successful season for the resort which played host to the last-ever PGA Euro-Pro Tour finals in October.

Lough Erne Resort boasts two championship golf courses with The Faldo Course, a top 100 course (Ireland and UK) designed by the six-time major winner, Sir Nick Faldo, and Castle Hume Course, which has been host to 10 Ulster PGA Championships.

“Everyone at the resort is absolutely delighted with the good news we received at the Irish Golfers Guide to Ireland awards," said Barry McCauley, Golf Operations Manager at Lough Erne Resort.

"Winning such a highly regarded award is a testament to the hard work of the golf team and the further investment that has gone into maintaining and enhancing the golf facilities at the resort.

"The service, presentation and overall experience that a golfer receives onsite at Lough Erne Resort makes for a truly memorable occasion and is a credit to the golf team overall for their efforts to make this possible.

“Hosting the Euro-Pro Tour Championship finals in October was the first time we hosted a week-long PGA professional tournament on the Faldo Course, and to win this prestigious award on the back of this is just the pinnacle of a truly successful golf season at Lough Erne Resort.”

Meanwhile, it has also recently been confirmed that the ‘Champion of Champions’ World Championship in association with Flogas, which attracted 250 Junior Golf Champions from over 40 countries to Lough Erne Resort for Europe’s biggest World Amateur Golf Ranking Champions Invitational, is to return to the resort in July 2023.

Lough Erne Resort is nestled on a 600-acre peninsula and has previously been awarded Hotel of the Year. It was also Northern Ireland’s first 5-star AA and NITB resort.
