The winner of our recent award for Fermanagh’s Favourite Takeaway has said it’s the quality food that keeps people coming back through the doors after 20 years.
Michael’s Diner on the Cornagrade Road in Enniskillen picked up the gong for the county’s favourite takeaway feast earlier this month. It comes as part of our MyLoves campaign to highlight some of Fermanagh’s most loved local businesses.
With stiff competition from several eateries around Enniskillen and beyond, diner owner Martin Rooney said he and his team were delighted to be recognised with support from the local community. The team were presented with a framed certificate to mark the achievement.

“We’re open 20 years now this month, it’s been good and we must be doing something right to stay open that length of time,” Michael said.
“We have had so many good staff and good regular customers, which is the most important thing in business. We feel lucky and blessed that we have had that here for so long.
“It’s not a thing that we would do very often, enter competitions and that type of thing. We just like to let our food do the talking.
“That has worked in our favour over the years and it’s great to get an accolade like this to recognise the work we have done.
“Not everything we do is perfect but we are here two decades now and we’re still as busy as ever so we must be doing something right. Thanks to everyone who came out to vote for us, we really appreciate it.”
