Tributes have been paid following the untimely passing of a young Co Fermanagh mum.
Jennifer Kavanagh died peacefully following an illness at the South West Acute Hospital in Enniskillen on Monday. The mum of one from Enniskillen will be buried on Thursday.
A former pupil of Erne Integrated College, the school paid tribute to Jennifer with a moving statement. It said Jennifer was a ‘spirited young lady with a winning personality’.
“It is with great sadness that we learned today of the most untimely death of former student Jenny Kavanagh,” the school’s tribute said.
“Many of us remember Jenny as a spirited young lady with a winning personality. Jenny had a great sense of humour and was very popular with staff and peers alike.
“Quick-witted and intelligent, Jenny loved nothing more than a good discussion and conversation. She was determined and when she put her mind to it, she could achieve anything. Jenny had natural leadership qualities and easily brought people along with her.
“Whilst standing up for herself and others was natural to her, Jenny was the soul of compassion and had a love for those around her which communicated itself effortlessly.
“Like all students who walk through our doors Jenny brought something special and unique with her and made our school a better place, she has left an indelible mark on us and it is with extreme sorrow that we share this news with our community.
“Our condolences, thoughts and prayers are with Bernie, Patrick, Sabrina, Jacinta, Lorraine, Joe, Patrick, Phillip, partner Derek and baby son Maximus. May she rest in peace.”
A close friend of Jennifer's said she was the 'light and soul of everything'. Rebecca Hodgins said she was a 'kind caring and brave person'.
"I’m so lucky and blessed to have shared such a special friendship with you," Rebecca said.
"For 20 years we laughed, we cried, we spent our whole childhood having the best fun together. I’m so grateful I got to meet you and I will never be over the loss of you. I will never be the same.
"You have left our family incomplete today. We all love you so much!"
