Fermanagh family’s desperate appeal for sightings of man missing in Denmark

The brother of a Co Fermanagh man who has gone missing in Denmark have issued a desperate plea for information on where he is.

Frank McCaughey is a keen traveller and photographer and had spent time working in the Enniskillen Hotel and the Lough Erne Resort. He had been on a trip to the Danish city of Aalborg and his family have not heard from him since July 12.

There have been no reported sightings of Frank since the family launched an appeal for information earlier this week. Frank’s brother Conan said it was unlike him not to be in contact with his family for so long, and that Danish police were currently conducting a missing persons investigation.

Making an emotional plea directly to his brother, Conan begged for Frank to return to his family.

“We love him and we really miss him. There’s so many people who care about him and we just want to get him home safe and sound,” Conan told Belfast Live.

“We’re so concerned about him. Frank does like to travel but he does keep in touch regularly and he hasn’t been in touch with anyone for two weeks now.

“He is quite vulnerable as well, he has epilepsy and does have seizures from time to time. We are really worried.”

Conan said Danish police had been speaking with his brother as he was looking to get a train to the capital city of Copenhagen and had asked them for information. He has not been sighted since then on July 13.

He added: “There has been nothing so far, no sightings of him since then.

“It’s very unusual for him to do this. It might be the case where he would go three or four days without contacting family but it wouldn’t go on longer than that.

“Frank loves travelling and photography and would be quite active as well. He did the five peaks of the UK and Ireland earlier this year.

“He is very passionate about mental health as well and has had his own mental health challenges in the past. We just want to get him home, if anyone knows anything please get in touch with us.”
