A Co Fermanagh egg business has been fined £17,500 after it was found to have committed a variety of water pollution offences.
The Yolk Folk Egg Products, based at the Old Coach Road in Arney, had been subject to a number of complaints to the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs.
The fines were handed down to the company at a sitting of Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Three separate visits were made to the business premises from a Water Quality Inspector (WQI) over a period of three years.
On the first occasion in July 2020, it was found that chicken shed washings were entering the storm drainage system and waterway.
Then in June 2021, it was discovered that slurry and manure washings had been flowing into a nearby waterway. A sample taken was found to have ‘poisonous, noxious, or polluting matter’ which was potentially harmful to fish life, as well as high levels of ammonia, which is directly toxic to fish life.
A further visit from an inspector in February 2022 found further water pollution offences being committed at the business.
The charges were brought to court by DAERA under the Water (Northern Ireland) Order 1999.
