A well-known Co Fermanagh healthcare worker has said he has many fond memories as he retired this week from the local trust.
Adrian Gilmore spent 46 years as a driver for the Western Health and Social Care Trust, from transporting vital supplies to transferring day patients to care centres across the Trust area.
He has already been enjoying the best of what retirement has to offer so far, and says his priority now will be to look after the garden at home which has been neglected in recent weeks.

“I worked as a driver, starting off in the hospitals delivering and collecting equipment and supplies around the Fermanagh area.
“I started in March 1976 and I was sixteen years there before I was able to get a bus licence. That got me taking different people to different facilities across Fermanagh.
“I met a lot of good people over the years. I enjoyed doing something worthwhile and helping people,” he told MyFermanagh.
Adrian paid particular tribute to his colleagues he worked with in the trust over close to five decades. The Ballinamallard man added that he was looking forward to putting his feet up in the years ahead.
“All the staff were brilliant and I never had any problems with anyone,” he said.
“It was a nice enough place to work - I never had too much hard work to do mind you.
“I always liked having a joke and a bit of craic with everyone I met out and about and I’ll miss that a wee bit.
“Since I’ve retired I’ve been trying to keep the grass down, we’ve a few days of good weather before the rain comes so I’ll need to make a start on that!”
The Western Trust said Adrian had been a dedicated member of staff for many years and he will be missed by everyone there.
The Trust said: “All colleagues from the Transport Department would like to wish a very happy and healthy retirement to Adrian Gilmore who retires after dedicating 46.5 years to the service based in the Southern Sector Transport Department in Fermanagh. You’ll be missed by all!”
