Fergie 'snubbed after not receiving an invitation' to King Charles' Coronation

Sarah Ferguson has not received an invitation from King Charles to be at his Coronation next month, it has been reported.

It is claimed that the King has decided against inviting his former sister-in-law to the ceremony, despite her still sharing a home with his brother Prince Andrew and seemingly being welcomed back into the royal fold.

It now means that Fergie will not be alongside her daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, who are both nieces of the King, in Westminster Abbey for the historic event on May 6.

It comes just a day after it was revealed Prince Harry will be at the ceremony at Westminster Abbey on May 6 but his wife Meghan Markle will stay in California with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

According to The Independent, Fergie, who was close to the late Queen and now looks after her corgis Sandy and Muick, will have to watch proceedings from home with a source saying: "She has been hugely supportive of Charles and Camilla and does not want this to become about her.

"The whole day is about the new King and the success of his reign but she has always championed the royal family and the Queen undoubtedly would have wanted her to be there."

Last month while at an event in New York to promote her latest romance novel, Fergie was asked about her plans for the Coronation after admitting she had not yet received an invitation.

But she shrugged it off and told of what she will be doing instead if she is not picked to be inside Westminster Abbey.

She explained: "Well I've decided the best thing about being British around a coronation - although I've never been to one - I think we should, I should set up a tea room at the bottom of the drive with bunting and cakes."

Meanwhile, earlier this month during an appearance on ITV show Loose Women, she revealed she may not be invited because now she has split from Andrew and that she wouldn't expect to necessarily be asked to come along so instead had other plans to mark the day.

She revealed she wanted to take the late Queen's corgis with her to a nearby nursing home and planned to celebrate with them, putting bunting up and turning it into a big party for them all to mark the King's Coronation.

It came after she gave her verdict on what her former brother-in-law Charles will be like as King - and also revealed her thoughts on the new Queen Consort Camilla. in an interview.

And she told OK! magazine that she believes that Charles will continue to grow his late mother's legacy.

She explained: "I have known both the King and the Queen Consort since I was a child.

"I think if you look at the King's track record in areas like the environment, where he was decades ahead of his time, and the Prince's Trust, it's clear what an extraordinary man he is and how fortunate we are to have him on the throne."

Meanwhile, she also had warm words for Camilla - and praised the causes that she has championed.

She added: "I also admire the way the Queen Consort has worked tirelessly in areas like literacy and domestic violence."
