Sarah ‘Fergie’ Ferguson SHOULD have been invited to King Charles’s Coronation ceremony on May 6 - according to Mirror readers.
The former wife of Prince Andrew will watch the crowning of Charles and Camilla at Westminster on TV after being snubbed from the invite list.
This means Fergie will not attend the occasion alongside her daughters Beatrice and Eugenie, who are 10th and 11th in line to the throne.
Instead, the Duchess of York has been handed a key role as a “VIP attendee” at the Coronation concert on May 7, starring the likes of Katy Perry and Take That.
Although Fergie and Andrew divorced in 1996, the pair have remained close friends over the years and still live together at the Royal Lodge.
Sources have claimed that Fergie was not expecting an invite to the ceremony, but was “delighted to join the wider family for the Coronation concert”.
She later told People magazine: “I'm very supportive of the King and the Queen Consort, and I really am glad to do whatever it takes to support them on their road ahead."

When asked about her attendance during an appearance on Good Morning Britain, she said: "No I'm not because it's a state occasion and being divorced you can't have it both ways.”
Meanwhile, royal commentator Tom Bower told MailOnline that Sarah had excluded herself because of her previous “conduct”, adding that her presence “would provoke critical comment which Charles doesn’t need”.
We asked Mirror readers if Fergie should have been invited to the Coronation, and 60 percent of respondents said ‘Yes’. A total of 7,028 people voted in our poll, and around 4,200 selected the option ‘Yes - she should be there’.
Sharing their opinions in the comments section, one person wrote: “Yes I think so. She has supported the Royal Family even though she divorced Andrew. She is the mother of two Princesses. I am sure there are many world dignitaries that probably are only there for what they can get from the exposure. People change as they grow older and I think she has. I think she learned from her mistakes.”
A second added: “I voted yes she should be there. If she's not considered good enough, then why did Charles think it fitting to entrust HRH Queen Elizabeth's most valuable pets, her dogs, to her? Any conflicts have been resolved for many years & from reports her former mother in law was very happy her and Andrew were living together. I believe she's not invited to the Coronation is due to Sarah being a close pal of Diana's, P-LAIN & SIMPLE.”
“If Meghan and Harry are invited, they should invite Fergie. She is more ‘royal’ than either of them. And if Camilla can be given the title of Queen Consort, then Fergie should be allowed to come. Her and the Queen had a close relationship. Fergie has done no worse than Camilla, so they should be close friends it would seem,” penned a third.
A forth shared: “She is more mature and she has never trashed the family. She has earned her place. Let her come in place of Harry,” as a fifth wrote: “Fergie hasn't done anything wrong! Her daughters are attending so I can't see the problem!!!”
Meanwhile, 37 percent were not in support of Fergie’s attendance and selected the option ‘No - she should stay away’. Taking to the comments, one voter stated: “Why should she, remember she is the ex wife of his brother and not a royal anymore so she has no right to anything the Firm gets up to”
“The British public must have very short memories when some favour her being invited. With her track record and shameless chutzpah it is downright inexplicable,” expressed another.
A third wrote: “No because she is a bigger embarrassment to the Royal Family than Meghan Markle ever was and he shouldn't be there either, Andy boy.”
While a fourth echoed: “She's divorced from Andrew and no longer a working Royal. But she hasn't been in any way SNUBBED. I think she fully understands her position in the RF, and that she has not been left out, as she will join them all later in more relaxed surroundings.”
Some readers highlighted that other royals also did not receive an invite, adding: “It would have been nice, but the King and Queen couldn't invite everyone, and a lot of minor royals are missing out too, so there are a lot of disappointed would-be guests.”
Only three percent of voters selected the option ‘Other’.
