Fenerbahce fans destroy seats at Ibrox amid Rangers win

Amid the euphoria of Rangers' celebrations having progressed to the quarter-finals of the Europa League, a section of Fenerbahce fans caused damage to the away end inside Ibrox.

Multiple seats were smashed within the section of the stadium which housed the travelling Turkish fans.

Images widely circulated online show dozens of seats missing having been ripped off, or hanging by the hinges after vandals caused the damage.

These incidents occurred within the Broomloan Stand.

Rangers' next home match isn't until Saturday, April 5 when they will take on Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership.

This will allow for extra time for the repair works to be carried out.

Barry Ferguson's men reached the last eight of the Europa League after claiming victory on penalties over Jose Mourinho's side.

Rangers threw away their two-goal advantage on the night having been up 3-1 from the first leg. Fenerbahce levelled the scoring at 3-3 on aggregate after winning 2-0 in Glasgow.

However, two spot-kick saves by Jack Butland and a miss from Mert Hakan Yandaş meant that Rangers had done enough to stay in the competition.

They will face Athletic Club in the next knockout round, with the first leg due to be played at Ibrox on Saturday, April 10.
