A sports presenter has shared an empowering post on her Instagram against sexism in the workplace. Amy Christophers has shared a shocking video to highlight the disrespectful behaviour of sports fans and sexual assaults and harassment that female broadcasters are subjected to.
Her video montage, as she worked at Beverley Racecourse covering Beverley Races in Yorkshire last May, shows Amy carrying out interviews at the race course for Raceday TV. One clip shows a man start to chant "her t**s are massive." As other punters laugh, Amy walks away in disgust.
Another clip shows a man declare "here's your stripper!" to a fellow punter as Amy interviews him. And in a third horrifying clip, after Amy asks a group of male racegoers to demonstrate how they would ride a horse, one member of the party proceeds to slap her on the backside.

"Yee-haa," he cheers as he delivers the slap, and he says into the camera "put that online." Former glamour model Amy, who appeared on the 2021 series of the E4 reality show Married At First Sight, was left visibly shocked by the man's behaviour.
She wrote on her Instagram: "Happy International Women's Day to all my queens still fighting sexism may we stick together and empower each other. Be able to express ourselves through fashion, feeling good and rocking our curves without fear of being sexually harassed and assaulted at the work place."
She added: "Keep rising, keeping shining still a little way to go yet #IWD2023" Amy's Married At First Sight co-stars Marilyse Corrigan told her: "Omg it makes me cringe. My home town and yeah… embarrassing. Sorry you had to deal with that Amy! But yes you handled them like a lady."
The praise and support came pouring in for Amy, who is also a qualified football referee for the FA. One supporter _jessdavies said: "So grim, sorry you experienced this. Keep thriving."
Gemno5 applauded: "All that in just one day! And still handled it like a lady." And jssd1992 said: "This was uncomfortable to watch, however, you handled it well."
Last year to mark International Women's Day she wrote another inspiring post, saying: "Shout out to my ones still tackling biases daily based on our sex!!"
She explained: "For me personally I’ve felt, and at times found; I’ve had to work harder and prove myself being a woman, and even more so coming into sport from the lad mags industry. I worked my butt off to be respected and given a level playing field with my fellow sports women. LOL one day I might feel on par with the guys."
Displaying a raft of sexist messages including "this is what happens when you let them out of the kitchen", she wrote: "Now after #mafsuk even google is giving me a hard time, as you can see it’s like my sports career I worked so hard for never even happened."
On Married At First Sight Amy tied the knot with Josh Christie in the hit series. Their marriage didn't work out despite them renewing their vows at the end of the series, and it was revealed during a dramatic reunion show that they had split.
She hails from the picturesque maritime town Falmouth in Cornwall, but last year was eyeing up a new start in Manchester. She fell for the city after being taken under the wing of celebrity fashion stylist Ryan Kay, whose clients include Corrie favourites Katie McGlynn and Lucy Fallon and Charlotte Dawson.
