A female Garda has been left with a fractured arm and finger after a man allegedly charged at her and another Garda in "a threatening manner".
The incident happened on Dominick Street in the city centre on Wednesday night last week. After they arrived at the scene, the Gardai asked a man in his 30s to leave the area.
The man allegedly refused to leave before he charged at the Gardai and "pushed a female member to the ground and restrained her on the ground", a garda spokesman said. Additional Gardai showed up and the man was arrested before he appeared before the courts the following morning.
