Female fan downs beer in just seven seconds at US Open for second year in a row

The likes of Emma Raducanu and Serena Williams might have already exited the US Open - but one female star has remained to wow the crowds.

Except Megan Lucky's antics have nothing to do with a court or even a tennis racquet. The American fan has instead retained her unofficial beer chugging title after again seeing off a beverage all in one go.

Lucky rose to fame at the 2021 tournament, when she was captured by cameras seeing off a lager in the stands. The video soon went viral on social media, and now she's proved her 'achievement' was no fluke.

Just 12 months on, the tennis fan has backed it up by banging down another pint at the same venue. And it took her a mere 7.37 seconds, although that seemed a fraction down on her effort last year.

Her rise to fame has been reflected by her Instagram following, which now nears 52,000. A post by the official US Open account, simultaneously playing clips of both efforts, has already attracted more than 148,000 likes.

The post was captioned: "Back-to-back US Open champ" and fans were keen to laud Lucky, who lists 'chug a few beers' among her favourite things in her bio. Randy_love11 said: " She needs to get free tickets for at least five years."

@arnelllozada24 suggested: "She'll be a good Beer commercial model!", while @icdegacci added: " Not the hero we want, but the hero we need." It was also noted that the beer she drank this time around didn't belong to her but her boyfriend, who also featured in the 2021 clip.

"With the same guy, good job lady," observed @aleontunes. Lucky's amusing antics aren't the first time fan behaviour has been in the spotlight in New York though.

Golf legend Tiger Woods was seen passionately supporting Serena Williams during her second round win, regularly off his feet as the all-time great beat Anett Kontaveit. The controversial Nick Kyrgios also ordered the umpire to warn a spectator about smoking marijuana during his win over Benjamin Bonzi.
