Over 700 FEMA staff and federal partners have been deployed across the Southeast to assist with challenges brought on by Tropical Storm Debby, as announced in a recent news release.
The slow-moving storm poses significant risks, including historic rainfall that could result in catastrophic flooding in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina through Friday, according to the agency.
FEMA staff in these states are working to provide federal assistance aimed at saving lives, protecting property, and ensuring public health and safety.
In addition to the deployed staff, search and rescue teams and swift water rescue assets are on standby to provide further assistance as needed.
