A federal magistrate judge has made a ruling in the case of Ryan Routh, who is facing charges related to two firearms offenses allegedly connected to an attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump. The judge, Ryon McCabe, stated that after a thorough three-hour hearing, he found the evidence against Routh to be substantial and compelling.

One key piece of evidence mentioned by the judge was a letter that Routh purportedly wrote detailing the assassination attempt. Additionally, prosecutors presented information indicating that Routh's fingerprint was found on tape used to attach a scope to a rifle discovered near the golf course where the incident was said to have taken place.

Furthermore, a witness came forward with crucial information, stating that Routh had delivered a box to their residence months prior. Upon investigation following news of the alleged assassination attempt, the witness opened the box to find various items, including ammunition, a metal pipe, tools, phones, and letters. One of the letters, addressed to 'The World,' confessed to the failed attempt on Donald Trump's life.

The judge also highlighted Routh's travels to Ukraine, noting his ability to navigate international borders effectively. Prosecutors presented evidence suggesting that Routh had made significant efforts to track and target former President Trump with the intent to carry out an assassination.

As a result of these findings, Magistrate Judge McCabe ruled that Ryan Routh will remain detained pending trial. The case continues to unfold as more details emerge surrounding the alleged assassination attempt and the evidence against the defendant.
