Fed-up mum says £100 of Christmas presents went missing during M&S shopping trip

A British mum has spoken of her horror after losing £100 of Christmas presents during a shopping trip to Marks and Spencers.

Nicolle Loughlin was shopping with her toddler son and pushing his pram with one hand and carrying her two bags in the other when she felt a sudden pull, and her handbag move.

The 30-year-old says she then realised that her bag had disappeared. She had spent around £100 on two charms from Pandora, reports the MEN.

Nicolle believes the bag was snatched. She says she was in Marks and Spencer at the time.

Bosses have reviewed CCTV footage. They said it was not possible to determine whether the bag went missing in store and have 'offered a gesture of goodwill', which Nicolle has accepted.

Nicolle said: "I was in the store and had two bags on my arm. The smaller bag was at the front of my hand. I was distracted as I was shopping in the food hall, my son was tired and fed up and I was pushing him around.

"The next thing, I felt my bigger bag move and as I looked down I realised my bag was gone. The store was really crowded and busy because it was 5pm.

A spokesperson for Marks and Spencer said: "We hold ourselves to the very highest standards of customer service, so we were sorry to hear that this customer was unhappy with her experience in store.

"Our customer service team have since spoken to the customer directly and whilst it was not possible to determine that the bag was lost in our store, we have offered a gesture of goodwill which the customer has accepted."

Police confirmed the incident was reported to them at 6.30pm on November 26. They have made no arrests and are still waiting to conduct CCTV enquiries.
