There are fears Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton will be 'pitted against each other' by an "explosive" new Netflix show.
The first instalment of Prince Harry and Meghan's six-part documentary will air this Thursday, as preview footage shows the couple claiming the Palace and the press treated them "differently" to the Prince and Princess of Wales.
The two couples shared a team of staff for much of the Sussexes' time in Britain before leaving for the US in 2020.
The docu-series will reportedly compare how Meghan and Kate were treated as well as how they were portrayed by the media, as insiders say the two women will be 'placed side by side' in the documentary in an attempt to back up the Sussexes' claim they had no choice but to quit royal life.
The new documentary, titled Harry & Meghan, is said to leave audiences with the impression that "leaving was their only choice".
"Here we go again," one royal source told The Telegraph, as members and aides say they find the idea of the documentary "very wearying".
Allies of the Sussexes stressed previously there would be no major bombshells about the royal family in the production and claimed it was not intended to blame anyone.
A short trailer has, however, renewed fears Prince Harry's family will be criticised.
One unflattering image of the Royal family taken at the 2019 Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey is included showing the Duchess of Cambridge looking 'stony-faced'.
Documentary-makers used media coverage of the two women to demonstrate the way they were treated by media.
Those interviewed are expected to reveal more information on Prince Harry's previous claims about an "invisible contract" between the press and the palace
The Sussexes, who tried to forge a new relationship with select media outlets, however felt they were not protected.
A source was quoted by the Telegraph as saying: "People are now acting like Catherine has never had any bad press.
"She already suffered the wild world of the royal fishbowl, it's just that she's been in it longer and is out the other side."
The Mirror reported earlier how the Royal Family have been warned to brace themselves for their worst nightmare as Harry and Meghan’s bombshell Netflix documentary series airs.
It came as William and Kate headed back to Britain from their US Earthshot visit – with the Prince of Wales set for crisis palace talks with King Charles over the show which is expected to go out worldwide on Thursday.
One source in contact with a Netflix production insider said: “I genuinely think it’s going to be worse than the royals can imagine.
“I’m told that it’s going to be utterly explosive and will be very damaging.”
The fuse was lit this week when the minute-long trailer on YouTube as the Prince and Princess of Wales were on a three-day visit to Boston ahead of Friday’s Earthshot Prize ceremony.
