US President Joe Biden has raised more fears about his health as he seemed to try to shake hands with a senator seconds after the pair had already done so.
The 79-year-old was attending the signing ceremony for the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022 outside the White House
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer shook hands with the leader of the free world first, before turning to the other attendees, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
But as Chuck warmly greeted everyone else, President Biden seemed confused as he held out his hand for a second handshake for several seconds.
When it did not appear he instead stroked his chin, seemingly believing he had been ignored by Schumer as he started to address the crowd.
Mocking the president on Twitter, Steve Guest, special advisor for communications for Republican Senator Ted Cruz, said: “All it takes is like 5 seconds for Joe Biden to forget he shook Chuck Schumer’s hand.
“Scary.”
Answering, one follower said: “Shot. Completely shot.
“Every single day a new embarrassment. Why they hide him as much as possible with daily lids, covid comebacks days at the beach.”
Another responded: “How much more do we need to see before someone takes this seriously...for both the country and the president himself.”
Despite the concerns, many people put forward they believed the president was gesturing at the podium ahead of Schumer’s speech.
One said: “He wasn't going to shake his hand again, he was gesturing towards the podium.
“Something is so deeply wrong with you guys.”
Another answered: “These wrong and pity observations are ridiculous! Hopefully we can move on to the great things that’s happening for America.”
The footage came a day after Biden was shown seemingly struggling to put on a jacket, calling on wife Jill for assistance.
The President had clambered down from Marine One when he got into difficulty putting his left arm through the sleeve, eventually asking for help.
Earlier this week the home of ex-president Donald Trump 's was raided by the FBI as part of an investigation into his removal of official presidential records from the White House .
The resort in Palm Beach, Florida, was "under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents", the former US president said in a lengthy statement published on his social media platform Truth Social.
