Mother thanks searchers as missing teenage girl and pet Cockapoo ‘safe and on way home’

A mother has thanked searchers who joined the hunt for a missing 14-year-old and her dog who vanished after going out for a walk on Good Friday.

Police issued an appeal for to find Isabella Hayward and her cockapoo Cooper after she left her home in Allerton Bywater, West Yorkshire, at 12.30pm on Friday and did not return.

Her mother Kayleigh Tear posted an update on Facebook shortly before 1am on Sunday confirming the pair had been located and were on the way home.

West Yorkshire Police later confirmed she had been found safe and well, adding: “Isabella Hayward and Cooper the dog who were subject to a missing person's appeal have been located safe and well.

“Thank you to everyone who assisted in sharing the appeal.”

She left on Friday wearing a stone-coloured White Fox top and black leggings to walk Cooper with a blue collar on, West Yorkshire Police said.

They issued an appeal on Saturday morning as officers and family became increasingly concerned for her welfare.
