Fearne Cotton has opened up about her separation from husband Jesse Wood in her first TV interview since the split.
Appearing on Monday’s episode of Lorraine, the TV presenter, 43, also shared a health update following surgery to remove two benign tumours from her jaw.
A benign tumour is a mass of cells that are non-cancerous, tend to stay in one place and can be safely removed during surgery.
The past few months have been challenging for the Happy Place podcaster, as she also surprised fans when she announced her divorce on Instagram, just days after sharing a health scare.
Responding to how she’s doing following her split from Wood, Cotton shared: “It's all very amicable and kids are doing great. I am in a very good place.”
Earlier in the conversation, the broadcaster discussed her recent surgery and how her recovery has been.
She said: 'I feel very grateful to have completely recovered. I feel really good. I have a lot of people reaching out who have had the same thing.”
Her pal Davina McCall, 56, announced in November that she'd been diagnosed with a colloid cyst, a rare type of benign brain tumour.
In the wake of the presenter’s health crisis, Cotton shared McCall was a support throughout.
She continued: “Everyone needs a Davina. She's been amazing, weird that we had the same health thing going on at the same time. She's so calming and we speak every day. She is just the best.”
Cotton announced her split from Wood in December after 10 years of marriage.
Posting a statement on Instagram Stories, the 43-year-old penned at the time: “It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage.
“Our priority has been and always will be our children. We please ask that you respect the privacy of our family at this time.”
The couple are parents to son Rex, 11, and eight-year-old daughter Honey, while Cotton is also step-mum to Wood’s children Arthur, 21, and Lola, 18, from his first marriage.
Since her split, Cotton has been spotted out with TV director Elliot Hegarty. The pair were pictured sharing a kiss in Soho at the end of February.
Sources claim the pair were introduced by mutual friend Gok Wan, with their long-standing friendship turning romantic following the end of their respective marriages.
The insider told The Sun: “Fearne and Elliot have known each other for a while. When their marriages ended, their friendship developed into romance.
“They have been seeing each other since January.”
